More Christ in Christmas #2 Let's Talk

The best way to deepen a relationship is by spending time with one another and talking with one another. The best way to have more Christ in your Christmas is by spending time with Jesus and saying, "Let's Talk".

Max Lucado wonders if Joseph talked to god the night Mary was going into labor. In his book, He Still Moves Stones, Lucado imagines Joseph asking God if this is how the Savior of the world was supposed to enter the world - alone in a stable.

Jesus' disciples saw and heard Jesus praying to the Father. They also knew how the religious leaders prayed with fancy words and repetitious phrases that were said to impress others. The disciples knew that John the Baptizer taught his disciples how to pray and they asked Jesus if He would teach them to pray.

The Lord's Prayer is an example of how to talk to God.
Use Luke 11:1-4 as a template of talking to God this Christmas season.
Luke 11:1-4 (NIV)
One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When He finished, one of His disciples said to Him, Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught His disciples to pray."
2He said to them, "When you pray, say: ""Father, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come.
3Give us each day our daily bread.
4Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.""

An easy way for me to remember to pray is ACTS.
Adoration - Father, You are holy
Confession - forgive me
Thanksgiving - thank you for all you have done
Supply - give me what I need for today

Put more Christ into your Christmas by saying, "Let's Talk" to the Lord every day.
