While Jesus was on the earth he was gaining popularity by healing and restoring people to wholeness. The Pharisees, who were religious leaders , were jealous and tried to get Jesus to leave the area by telling Jesus that Herod was out to kill him. Jesus’ response reveals His goal. Luke 13:32 He replied, “Go tell that fox, ‘I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.’ Jesus had a goal of restoring people. The third day reference alludes to His main goal of going to the cross, dying, rising from the dead, conquering sin and death. The apostle Paul had a goal. 2 Corinthians 5:9 So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. The Jews had a goal, but it was a faulty goal. Romans 9:31 but the people of Israel, who pursued the law as the way of righteousness, have not attained their goal. We cannot copy Jesus’ goal because it could only be completed by Him. Do you have a goal, a faulty goal or is it a worthy goal?
