I knew that building trust takes time and consistency. Losing trust takes one event, one moment. No new information about those two statements. It was the aspect of linking them together in one sentence that made it impacting.
Should trust be earned or freely given?
If trust is broken, should it be earned back or freely given?
Here are some verses that should help answer those questions:
Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Luke 6:37
“Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven."
Colossians 3:13
Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
1 Corinthians 13:6-7
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Change your mind?
How can you always trust someone who is not trustworthy?
