We are going through a book by Max Lucado titled, "A Love Worth Giving - Living in the Overflow of God's Love". The theme of the chapter last night was that love never gives up.
Jesus could have given up on humanity rather than go to the cross. But love never gives up. One of our homework challenges is to read an autobiography or biography of a missionary noting their persevering through tremendous obstacles. The other challenge is to offer encouragement to someone we know that may be discouraged to the point of giving up.
Most of us are aware of friends or families who are going through some very difficult circumstances. I am embracing the second challenge and offering the hope that comes through Jesus Christ.
2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, 17 encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.
This verse is good for myself and each of us as we go through life filled with joys, victories as well as challenges and setbacks.
