Five Ways God Guides Us

The small groups in our church are called Life Groups and each group is going through the ALPHA course. ALPHA is a practical introduction to the Christian faith. The session for this week looks at how God guides those who are following Him.

God promises to guide His followers. He has a good plan for our lives and it is always better than what I consider to be a good plan for me. Each of us needs to talk with God before making significant decisions in our lives. The following are from session 6 of the ALPHA course.

God guides us through one or more of the following five ways:
1.       Scripture
2.       The Holy Spirit
3.       Common Sense
4.       Counsel of other Christians
5.       Convincing Circumstances

Jeremiah 29:11-13 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
