First step is to decide how much time you are going to read each day. If you can read 20-40 minutes each day, you can easily read the entire Bible in one year. Whether you are a fast reader or struggle with reading, 20-40 minutes will give you sufficient time.
The second step is for you to decide what you wish to read. Perhaps you want to focus on the New Testament this year and not read through the entire Bible. You will read through the New Testament every month if you read 20-40 minutes each day. I have a friend who reads one book of the Bible the entire year. By the end of the year they know that particular book very thoroughly and choose a different book the next year.
I choose to read through the Bible each year and select a different version each year. Sometimes I go through the Bible chronologically and other years a plan with a reading from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs.

Psalms 119:105
Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.
