On Day #1, we made a “thanks checklist” compiled of Relationships, Finances, Travels, Events, Activities, and Health. We identified things that occurred on our lives over the past year that we have good memories from in each category. Making a hard or soft copy of this list is essential for what we are going to do today, so if you took the easy route and just did it in your mind, put it on paper or e-paper! Print the list you have made and use it as a prayer of thanks to God today. I filed my list under Thankful Things. One of the things I am thankful for in the events category is sleeping in a structure made of cardboard with friends raising fund for the homeless in our community. Now I can thank God for being able to participate, for the fun guys I was with, for no rain or snow that day, for the people who made donations and for the partnership we are doing with a local non-profit helping the homeless in our community. Just take you list and thank God for each of the thankful things you have on your list. Some of the items on your list you will spend just a brief amount of time thanking God for and other items will be a fuller thanks expressed. Your grateful heart is a great heart before God. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
