Mashable.com says this about 4G phones, "LTE — which is emerging as the global standard for 4G — is still in the earliest stages of deployment." Even when explained that LTE means Long Term Evolution, it carries no meaning for me because I am still waiting for my ancient flip phone to die and will then decide how techy a phone to own. I do understand terms like, "potential to be insanely fast" and "the technology can help solve the “last mile” dilemma... that prevents rural areas from getting service.". When visiting my mother , who still lives on the farm I grew up on, the service is spotty. The 4G may solve some of those problems, but soon the new improved 5G, 6G, 36G, etc. will promise to be even better. Perhaps I am skeptical about the 4G saving and solving all my phone problems. People are skeptical about the claims that Jesus made, particularly that He is coming back to the earth. The Bible writers predicted this skepticism. 2 Peter 3:3-7 "First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ He promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” 5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men." Just like my skeptical thoughts about 4G, people have heard about Jesus forgiving, healing, fixing, and coming back. They have heard, but they have not always seen it in real life. I believe that if people pursue Jesus Christ, they will encounter Him in a real and tangible way because Jesus says He will do that. He will remove guilt, emotionally and physically heal and give the Holy Spirit to those who ask. Jesus does not say our lives will be "insanely fast" or no more dropped relationships or a trouble free life. He does promise to bring us through victoriously. If you have not intentionally pursued and followed Jesus, you can do it today. Tell Him you are ready to do life His wayI may just try out a 4G phone, but you will come away with something far better.
